NEWS

December 29, 2009 - Congratulations to the Solar Bears on becoming the first team to win 2 Sausage Bowls by defeating Atown Box and One! Dagobah finished third with their win over Mt. Adams.

The week 17 All Star Game is on the horizon as well as an expected flurry of trades due to the weak RB's in the 2010 free agent pool. Draft picks look to be at a premium.

Central Penn had the most points of week 16 with 153 points. Too bad he didn't make the playoffs.

December 22, 2009 - Atown will try to go 3-0 vs. Solar this season to win its first Sausage Bowl in an all-Andre Ware finale. With its win over Dagobah, Solar becomes the first team to appear in 3 Sausage Bowls and will attempt for the second consecutive season to become the first 2-time winner. Atown also grabbed the high score of the week with 160 points.

Mt. Adams and Dagobah face off for 3rd place.

December 15, 2009 - Shawshank Redemption, Brandon Marshalls (21 receptions - 200 yards -2 TD's - 53 points) performance tied the JFFL record for points in a game for a WR. The performance also helped earn the Redemptions Week 14 scoring honors with 169 points.

Playoffs

#1 Atown. 10-3. Andre Ware Division Champion.

#2 Dagobah. 8-6. Bubby Brister division Champion. 6-0 division record vs. 3-3 division record for both CAK (8-6) & Amish (8-6). #2 seed because of 124-104 victory over Mt. Adams in Week 5.

#3 Mt. Adams. 8-6. Ryan Leaf Division ‘champion’.

#4 Solar. 8-6 record tied with Amish, CAK, Daytona. Vs. eachother…
Solar…3-1
CAK…2-2
Amish…2-2
Daytona…1-3

Week 15 schedule…
#3 Mt. Adams at #1 Atown + 5.5
#4 Solar at #2 Dagobah + 5.5

December 8, 2009 - Daytona and Atown grab the first banners of the year as they win the Pennsylania and Ohio Cups. Daytona had the high score of week 13 with 159 points. Other week 13 winners include; Atown, Amish, Dagobah, Mt. Adams, and Central Penn

December 1, 2009 - The Dagobah Deathdealers score the most points in week 12 with 154, barely edging out the Daytona Master Baitors with 151 in their win. Other week 12 winners include; CAK, Portland, Solar, and Mt. Adams.

Division Scenarios (Courtesy of Draho);

Atown has clinched a playoff spot & clinches the Andre Ware division & #1 seed with a Week 13 win over Solar.

Solar wins the Andre Ware division by winning out AND 1) a second Atown loss OR 2) maintaining a points lead (currently at 6) over Atown.

Daytona & Shawshank have been eliminated from winning the division.

CAK & Amish each can clinch the Bubby Brister division by winning out.

Dagobah wins the Bubby Brister Division by 1) winning out AND 2) an Amish loss to Michigan in Week 13 OR a Week 14 Amish loss to CAK.

Michigan has been eliminated from the playoffs.

Mt. Adams wins Ryan Leaf division by winning out.

Chambers Hill wins division by 1) winning out AND 2) a Mt. Adams Week 13 loss to Portland OR a Mt. Adams Week 14 loss to Central Penn.

Portland wins division by 1) winning out AND 2) a Mt. Adams Week 14 loss to Central Penn OR overcoming a 201 points deficit to Mt. Adams.

Central Penn needs (deep breath)…1) CP over CH in week 13, 2) CP over Mt. Adams week 14, 3) Portland over Mt. Adams in Week 13 AND 4) CH over Portland in Week 14. Ties essentially act as wins for CP and losses for the other teams in the division with respect to CP.

November 24, 2009 - The Atown Box and One score the most points in week 11 with 148, barely edging out the Amish Rakefighters. Trade action wrapped up with DeSean Jackson and Frank Gore switching teams. Week 11 winners include; Central Penn, Shawshank, CAK, Amish, and Solar. Daytona was the only team that failed to break 100 points.

November 17, 2009 - The CAK Turd Burglers score the most points in week 10 with 184. Randy Moss led the way with 38 points. More trade action as Daytona, CAK, and Shawshank swap draft picks, Owen Daniels, and under-achieving stars. Week 10 winners include all four teams in the Andre Ware division (Atown, Solar, Shawshank, and Daytona), and Michigan with only 63 points.

November 10, 2009 - Shawshank wins his first banner (Cobra Clutch Cup) with a win over Central Penn. The Solar Bears score the most points (again) in week 9 with 178. Larry Fitzgerald led the way with 33 points. A lot of trade action as Michigan traded his way to 5 first round picks in 2010. Other winners include; Daytona, Mt. Adams, Portland, and Chambers Hill.

November 3, 2009 - The Solar Bears score the most points in week 8 with 161. Chris Johnson led the way with only 26 points. Other winners include; Amish, Mt. Adams, Shawshank, Atown, and Dagobah.

October 27, 2009 - Chambers Hill again tallied the highest weekly score with 156 points. DeSean Jackson led the way with only 26 points on 3 touches. Other winners include; Atown, Dagobah, Mt. Adams, Amish, and Central Penn.

October 20, 2009 - Chambers Hill tallied the highest weekly score to date despite getting 0 points out of one of his starting running backs (Julius Jones, SEA). Six players tallied 23 points or more for his squad. Chambers Hill defeated Mt. Adams by 106 points which was not a JFFL record (134 by Solar in 2006). Atown won the game of the week easily by defeating Daytona in their battle for the Andre Ware Division lead. Other winners include; Dagobah, Solar, Shawshank, and Amish.

October 13, 2009 - Donovan McNabb showed no rust in his return from injury by leading The Shawshank Redemptions into the win column in fashion by taking the high score for week 5 with 153 points. Atown was the winner of the highly anticipated clash between division leaders with at 142-126 win that will likely come into play for tie-breakers at the end of the JFFL season. Other week 5 winners include; Amish, Portland, Dagobah, and Daytona, who retained the Embryo Cup with their win. Roddy White recorded the most points of week 5 when he amassed 41 points while emberassing the 49ers secondary. Free Agent, Miles Austin, made a push for employment with a 47 point effort.

October 6, 2009 - The CAK Turd Burglars, led by Peyton Manning, record the highest score of Week 4 with 147 points. Other week 4 winners include; Daytona, Mt. Adams, Central Penn, Atown, and Amish. Daytona pulled off the win despite playing without a QB. The San Francisco 49ers Defense notched the most points of week 4 when they shutout the St. Louis Rams while recording 3 Turnovers, 5 sacks, and scoring 3 touchdowns. The league also announced the blackout of the "Embryo Cup" matchup between Daytona and Chambers Hill in Central Pennsylvania due to the overwhelming demand of viewers to see the clash of the two highest scoring teams in the JFFL, the Bubby Brister leading CAK Turd Burglars, and the Andre Ware leading Atown Box and One. Said owner Dan Suereth, "That's fine with us, we've dominated this 'rivalry' the past few years, so we can understand why interest has waned. Besides, we'd rather fly under the radar because our team sucks anyway". Beanie Wells was unavailable for comment.

September 29, 2009 - The Mt. Adams Crips, led by Matt Schaub, record the highest score of Week 3 with 167 points. Other week 3 winners include; CAK, Dagobah, Portland, Chambers Hill, and Atown. Peyton Manning recorded the most points of week 3 when he amassed 39 points while dismantling the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday night.

September 22, 2009 - The Solar Bears Chris Johnson re-writes the JFFL record books. With 197 rushing yards, 9 receptions, 87 receiving yards, and 3 Td's, Johnson set the all-time points in a game for RB's record with 54 points. The previous mark of 52 had been held by LaDainian Tomlinson since Week 3 of the 2005 season. Johnson's 54 points also tied the overall single game JFFL points record which has been held by the Seattle Seahawks Defense since Week 13 of the 2005 season. The Chambers Hill Sex Panthers, led by Marques Colston, recorded the highest score of Week 2 (and the season thus far) with 179 points. Other week 2 winners include; Daytona, Central Penn, CAK, Solar, and Atown.

September 15, 2009 - The Central Penn Chimps, led by John Carlson, record the highest score of Week 1 with 156 points narrowly edging out the Amish Rakefighters who scored 155 points in their win. Other week 1 winners include; Solar, CAK, Michigan, and Portland. Drew Brees recorded the most points of week 1 with 50. He fell three points short of the record while tossing six touchdowns against the Lions.

August 28, 2009 - The JFFL Auction is Completed. Maurice Jones-Drew receives the highest salary at $50 from the Shawshank Redemptions.

August 25, 2009 - The JFFL Rookie Draft wraps up. LeSean McCoy was taken with the first overall pick by the Mt. Adams Crips.

Dec. 30, 2008 - JFFL Banners Raised

Mt. Adams Crips - Ryan Leaf Division Winner, Sausage Bowl Champions, Milkshake Cup Champions.

Solar Bears - Andre Ware Division Winner, Ohio Cup Champion

Daytona Master Baitors - JFFL Wild Car, Pennsylvania Cup Champions

Amish Rakefighters - Bubby Brister Division Winner

Dec. 23, 2008 - All-Star Game

All star rules below. Just be careful of last minute trades of players...a player must stay in the division to be eligible for the all star team. So you may want to keep in communication with the other owners in your division on potential trades. Also note the 'week 11' rule. Payouts are 1.5% to each owner on the winning team.

ARTICLE XVI - JFFL ALL STAR GAME

A. During week 17 of each NFL season, the JFFL All Star game shall be conducted.
B. The head coach of each JFFL All Star game shall be determined as follows:
1. The three JFFL team owners whose JFFL teams won its respective divisions in the corresponding JFFL season.
2. If any JFFL team owner described in Article (1) of this paragraph is unwilling or unable to act as head coach, head coaching duties for the All Star game shall belong to the following:
(a) The JFFL team owner whose JFFL team finished second in its division in the corresponding JFFL season.
(b) If the JFFL team owners for first and second place finisher in the division are unwilling or unable, to the JFFL team owner finishing third in its division for the corresponding JFFL season.
(c) If the JFFL team owners whose teams finished first, second, and third in the division are unwilling or unable, to the JFFL team owner whose team finished fourth in its division in the corresponding JFFL season.
C. Each JFFL division shall submit an All Star lineup in adherence with the following guidelines:
1. Each JFFL team shall have at least one player in the All Star lineup.
2. The positions in the lineup shall be the same as any other JFFL game as described Article VII (F) of this Constitution.
3. Players in an All Star lineup must have continuously been on the roster or rosters of teams within the division attempting to place that player on its roster since week 11 of the corresponding JFFL season.
4. Each JFFL team owner responsible for selecting an All Star lineup must notify all JFFL owners of such lineup prior to the first game of week 17 of the NFL season.
5. Lineups may be changed prior to the beginning of week 17 of the NFL season, but may not change once week 17 of the NFL season has begun.
D. Scoring shall be the same as any other JFFL game as described in paragraphs (D) and (E) of Article VII of this Constitution.
E. A player’s inclusion in an All Star lineup shall have no effect on the number of JFFL player points he acquires for an individual JFFL team.
F. The lineup with the most JFFL player points shall be the winner of the All Star game, and the lineup finishing with the second most JFFL player points shall finish in second place. Ties are permitted.
G. If no head coach is determined pursuant to paragraph (B) of this Article, the JFFL division not selecting a head coach shall receive a score of 0.
H. The commissioners shall include a distribution to be divided evenly among the JFFL owners in the division in which the corresponding lineup wins the JFFL All Star game in the annual payout structure created pursuant to Article II (I)(8) of this Constitution

Dec. 23, 2008 - Trades

Trades may still be made throughout week 17. I get the same question every year, so i'll go through the dialog here in advance:

JFFL owner: Can I trade match rights of a player in the off-season who is in the last year of his contract?
Draho: No.
JFFL owner: Why not?
Draho: That's how the Commissioners have interpreted the constitution.
JFFL owner: I don't remember it being like that.
Draho: That's the way it's always been.
JFFL owner: That sucks.
Draho: You suck.

So, if a free agent to be is on your week 17 roster, he cannot be traded.

Dec. 23, 2008 - Milkshake Cup

Remember, points continue to accrue through week 17. Pretty good battle for 2nd place between Central Penn & Mt. Adams.

Also, high scores and record breakers still apply to week 17 games.

Dec. 23, 2008 - Sausage Bowl

Mt. Adams get the Ryan Leaf Division its first taste of Sausage & keeps Solar from breaking win streak record. Congratulations.

The Amish Rakefighters may have won the consolation game that went down to the final play of week 16 with a 5 point victory. I'm gonna double check the constitution to make sure there isn't 5.5 point HFA in the consolation game. I have a feeling it may be in there, but its not spelled out. I think there is a good argument that it is implied to exist. The commissioners will discuss to determine who the true winner is.

Dec. 16, 2008 - Solar vs. Mt. Adams for the 2008 Sausage Bowl. Daytona vs. Amish squaring off in the 3rd place game.

Dec. 8, 2008 - Solar completed a ten week winning streak to wrestle the #1 seed away from Daytona. As impressive as the 10 week winning streak was, the result can be attributed more to the inability of Daytona to win just once in the last three weeks of the regular season, losing in the last week to a team that hadn't won in eight straight weeks yet somehow managed to put up the high score at the absolute worst time for the Master Baitors... not that I'm bitter.

Dec. 8, 2008 - Playoffs

(3) Amish at (1) Solar.
(4) Daytona at (2) Mt. Adams.

Solar & Mt. Adams each get an additional 5.5 points representing home field advantage.

Dec. 1, 2008 - The Amish vs. Dagobah matchup has been chosen as the final "Game of the Week". It is the only game remaining that has a playoff spot at stake. While Amish is a game behind in the standings, a win would result in winning any tie-breakers and taking home the final JFFL Playoff spot.

Dec. 1, 2008 - The following is effective as long as no scoring changes change the outcome of the CAK/Amish game. For JFFL purposes, the scoring only becomes final at the start of the following week, which in this case is thursday evening's game.

Daytona (10-2-1) continues to stumble and needs a win or a loss by Solar in the final week to win the Andre Ware division and #1 seed. Solar (10-3) would take the division if either week 14 game involving the teams results in a tie leading to a seasonal record tie. Whoever does not win the division between Solar & Daytona will take the #4 seed.

Mt. Adams (9-4) has won the Ryan Leaf division and will host a playoff game for the first time as the #2 seed.

Division Bubby and the #3 seed will be taken by the winner of the Amish/Dagobah game in week 14. A Dagobah (7-6) victory or tie would give them their first Bubby Brister title and playoff appearance. An Amish (6-7) win would create a 2 or 3 team (with CAK) tie for the title in which Amish would win the tiebreaker in either scenario (2-0 head to head vs Dagobah in 2-team tie & 3-1 head to head to head vs CAK/Dagobah in 3-team tie).

CAK has joined Michigan, Shawshank, Atown, Central Penn, Portland & Chambers Hill in the ranks of the eliminated but who retain Milkshake Cup and high weekly score eligibility.

Nov. 25, 2008 - The matchup for 1st overall seed between Daytona and Solar has been chosen as the Week 13 "Game of the Week". Much consideration was given to the Bubby Brister matchup between CAK and Amish due to it's importance to the JFFL playoffs. However, many fans were complaining that CAK was chosen to participate in the coveted "Game of the Week" two weeks in a row and it was feared that, had CAK been given the honor three straight weeks, a riot would have ensued.

Nov. 25, 2008 - Some playoff-hungry teams have definitely stepped up over the last few weeks (Mt. Adams, Solar) while some are headed in the wrong direction (Daytona, Central Penn) & others have just continued with their inconsistent campaign (CAK, Amish, Dagobah).

Daytona (10-1-1) is happy to be done playing that dangerous team from Shawshank for the season. While guaranteed at least a wildcard spot, they still hold a magic number of 1 for their second straight Andre Ware crown, so a win or Solar loss gives them a title and #1 seed.

Solar (9-3) continues to roll as they clinched the second straight wild card for the Andre Ware division in Week 12. If they take care of business on their end with wins in the final two weeks, including one over Daytona, and Atown manages a not too far fetched upset over Daytona in week 14, Solar takes the crown & a #1 seed. The Andre Ware winner will be the number #1 seed under any set of circumstances.

Mt. Adams (8-4) has clinched the Ryan Leaf division & will be guaranteed a #2 seed (and an all important home playoff game) with at least one win in the final 2 weeks. They would slip to a #3 seed with 2 losses AND 2 Dagobah wins AND at least 1 loss by CAK. Only Dagobah could take the #2 seed from Mt. Adams.

The Bubby Brister division is logjammed. Contrary to last week's playoff report, Michigan (4-8)'s loss knocked them out of the playoffs officially.

Both CAK (6-6) and Amish (5-7) would clinch the division and #3 seed with 2 wins to close the season. The two face off in week 13. A loss would eliminate Amish, but not CAK. CAK would clinch the division in week 13 with a win and a Dagobah loss.

Dagobah (6-6) needs at least one CAK loss to have any shot at the division. A loss to Michigan this week would only eliminate them if CAK defeats Amish. Fans of meaningful week 14 games hope for a Dagobah loss and an Amish win, which would lead to a 3 way tie going into the final week.

Michigan and the three pieces of garbage from the Ryan Leaf Division (Central Penn, Portland and Chambers Hill all at 5-7) joined Shawshank (4-7-1) and Atown (4-8) in the ranks of eliminated from contention.

Nov. 18, 2008 - The matchup for 1st place in the Bubby Brister Division between CAK and Dagobah has been chosen as the week 12 Game of the Week.

Playoff Picture

Heading into the final 3 weeks of intra-divisional play...

Dagobah (6-5) wins its first ever Bubby Brister division title with a win over CAK (5-6) this week.

Amazingly, Michigan (4-7) and Amish (4-7) both control their own playoff destiny with a CAK win over Dagobah. The loser of the game will be hanging on to a small mathmatic chance of the playoffs.

Daytona (10-0-1) has clinched a playoff berth and will clinch the Andre Ware division title & the #1 seed with a win over Shawshank this week.

Solar (8-3) clinches a wild card with a Dagobah win OR a tie or win over Atown. Division title & #1 seed with 3 wins & 3 Daytona losses. Having beaten CAK, Mt. Adams & Central Penn, Dagobah is the only team that could wrestle a wild card from Solar.

Mt. Adams (7-4) will just about clinch the Ryan Leaf crown with a win over Central Penn (5-6), which would eliminate Central Penn. The title would only be taken from Mt. Adams with 3 Chambers Hill wins, 2 Mt. Adams losses & Chambers Hill making up significant ground in total points.

Portland (4-7) still has hope if it runs the table, beginning with a win over Chambers Hill (5-6) along with 3 Mt. Adams losses. Chambers Hill remains alive with a win or Mt. Adams loss.

Shawshank and Atown have been eliminated.

Nov. 11, 2008 - The matchup between CAK and Mt. Adams, has been chosen as the week 11 Game of the Week.

Nov. 4, 2008 - The matchup between Daytona and Dagobah, has been chosen as the week 10 Game of the Week.

Rivalries

Daytona, Central Penn & Mt. Adams have each taken home rivalry trophies thus far. At the moment, no future rivalry trophies between non-divisional games are up for grabs for the rest of the season.

A few teams defeated their personal 'El Guapo' already this season. However, the following teams still remain another's bitch...

Central Penn...0-5 vs. Solar

Central Penn...0-4 vs Amish with week 10 matchup looming.

Atown...0-5 vs. CAK

Portland...0-4 vs. CAK with week 9 matchup

Daytona...0-4 vs. Michigan with week 9 matchup

Shawshank...0-3-1 vs. Chambers Hill with week 9 matchup

Portland...0-4 vs. Michigan with week 10 matchup

Records Watch

No records have been set thus far in 2008. In what appears to be a down offensive year, no player season records appear to be within reach. The only longshot appears to be Mason Crosby of Solar with 61 points through 7 of his team’s games. Adam Vinitieri of the 2004 Chimps holds the kicker record of 158. If Crosby averages 11 points per game for the rest of the season, he’d end up at 160.

Daytona looks like it can challenge the all-time best regular season record of 12-2 set by Solar in 2006 & tied by CAK in 2007. Daytona can also tie the 11 game winning streak set by CAK in 2007 & may challenge the divisional margin of victory record of 5 games set by the two teams above.

Parity

Week 8 was the 2nd high score of the week performance by Solar. 6 other teams have been top scorer thus far this year.

With the exception of Daytona at 7-0-1 & Shawshank at 2-5-1, all teams are within 2 games of each other between 3-5 & 5-3.

Dues

All teams but Portland have paid their dues for the 2008 season.

Oct. 28, 2008 - The matchup between Solar (5-3), winners of four straight, and Mt. Adams (5-3), Ryan Leaf division leader, has been chosen as the week 9 Game of the Week.

Oct. 22, 2008 - A Pennsylvania man finished the 15lb burger at Denny's in Clearfield. Draho couldn't even finish the 2 pound version. Here is a link here for the story:

http://www.wtopnews.com/?nid=456&sid=1498608

Oct. 7, 2008 - The matchup of Mt. Adams and Central Penn, both 3-2 leaders in the Ryan Leaf division, was chosen as the week 6 Game of the Week. This is Central Penn's third matchup of the week in the 2008 JFFL season. Central Penn and Mt. Adams are also the 2nd and 3rd highest scoring teams in the league.

Oct. 7, 2008 - Monday Night's matchup between the Saints and Vikings resulted in a few upset teams this week. Daytona owner Dan Suereth was livid that Reggie Bush couldn't gain 5 rushing yards even though he scored two touchdowns in the 2nd half. Mt. Adams was upset by a missed face mask that resulted in a fumble awarded to the MIN defense, ultimately leading to a 2 point loss in the week 5 Game of the Week. Daytona took over the points lead after a poor showing by the Central Penn Chimps.

Sept. 30, 2008 - The Dagobah and Mt. Adams matchup has been chosen as the week 5 Game of the Week. Both teams are 3-1 and riding 3 game win streaks. Central Penn and Atown are also 3-1 teams facing off this week.

Sept. 30, 2008 - Daytona wins it's second straight Embryo Cup with a 125-72 thrashing of twin brother Chambers Hill. The win also catapulted Daytona into first place in the Pennsylvania Cup Standings.

Sept. 23, 2008 - New for 2008 are the Ohio and Pennsylvania Cups. Teams competing for the Ohio Cup are Atown, CAK, Michigan, Mt. Adams, Portland and Solar. Amish, Central Penn, Chambers Hill, Dagobah, Daytona and Shawshank will compete for the Pennsylvania Cup. The team that has the best record against their respective foes throughout the 2008 regular season will win their respective cup. Current Standings can be found in the bottom right corner on the home page.

Sept. 23, 2008 - The clash for the embryo cup has been selected as the week 4 Game of the Week. Twin brothers Brent and Dan Suereth represent the teams looking to claim the Embryo Cup Banner. Daytona is the lone unbeaten team in the JFFL while Chambers Hill is tied for first (and last) in the suddenly competitive Ryan Leaf Division.

Sept. 23, 2008 - Pending any late scoring changes, Mt. Adams has claimed the first annual "Hammer of Justice" with a 125-124 win over fellow "lawyer", Tim Drahovsky, owner of the Shawshank Redemptions. A heroic effort from LT was not enough to wrestle the hammer away from Mt. Adams

Sept. 23, 2008 - The Daytona Master Baitors rode a 37 point effort from Reggie Bush to claim the Hi-Score for week 3. Daytona is currently 2nd overall in points and Reggie Bush is currently 3rd in Fantasy Football with 82 points overall.

Sept. 16, 2008 - The matchup between Central Penn and Chambers Hill, the top two scoring teams in the JFFL, has been selected as the week 3 Game of the Week.

Sept. 16, 2008 - Central Penn destroys Shawshank 192-86 in the week 2 Game of the Week after a 100+ point effort from WR trio Brandon Marshall, Greg Jennings & Anquan Boldin.
